Program Content
  1. Addresses all Federal Acquisition Institute overarching competency: requirements/management development process.
  2. Promotes awareness for need to accommodate planning process in the development of project scope with regards to environmental safety, occupational health (ESOH) and security (informational, personnel and physical) alerting the need for managing scope elements with regard to congressional processes and audits.
  3. Presents industry best practices through the forty-two (42) processes (22 in depth) as presented in the PMBOK GuideĀ® 4th Edition in addressing phased inputs, tools and techniques, outputs, and deliverables in the preparation of project planning with respect to total cost of ownership, life cycle logistics systems management using integrated master plan, integrated master schedules down to the detailed schedule level.
  4. Covers network development through identification of deliverables and the use of work breakdown structure, activity duration estimates, resource allocation and scheduling, establishing need for resource calendars and creating baselines for the ability to analyze cost and progress through earned value analysis.
  5. Identifies the need for managing stakeholder expectations through a stakeholder assessment. Through risk management, participants will establish proper communication through risk identification and assessment using both qualitative and quantitative analysis in the planning of risk response. Monitoring and controlling of risk will take place through risk registers, issues tracking, change control, meeting management, project status reporting, lessons learned and the need for complete final electronic document archival.
  6. Participants receive fourteen (14) customizable templates to assist them in the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closing of projects.
